Dr. Nathian Shae Rodriguez was an invited speaker at this year’s TEDxSDSU. His talk titled “Digital Disruptions of Identidad in Digitral Media” focused on the lack of diverse and intersectional representation in media and argues for digital platforms as a space for disruptions to normative media practices – specifically for Latinx representation. TEDxSDSU was held on March 10, 2018 at San Diego State University and featured a diverse lineup of artists, entrepreneurs and scholars that dissected and examined the patterns that have come to define our world, prompting audience members to question preconceived beliefs and challenge the status quo. Dr. Rodriguez’s talk can be viewed online here and below.
